Nécrologie de Joanne Gardner

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the quiet passing of Joanne Gardner (nee Brasher) on Thursday January 9, 2025 at the age of 93. 

She was the devoted wife of Elliott Gardner. They lived in the Hawkesbury/ Vankleek Hill area for most of their married life.

Joanne was the loving mother to her sons, Leslie, Steve (Judy), and Colin (Jennifer). Her legacy of love and compassion lives on through her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Dan (Kim) their children Penny, Zoey, and Nora; Chad (Alison) their daughter Adeline; Melissa (Axel Saizonou); Jessica; Emilie (Tomas Rodriguez) their son Ori Theodore; and Maya.

Joanne's life was marked by her commitment to her family and her quiet kindness. She loved animals especially her many horses. Riding around her farm was a favourite activity. She cherished her herd of goats and several border collie dogs over the years. Joanne built a successful cheesemaking business with her goat milk production of which she was very proud.

She had an abiding love of music, especially Irish folk music. Joanne was also proud to have been a public health nurse in BC in the 50's. 

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in memory of Joanne to the Alzheimers Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A Tree of Remembrance in her honour will be planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest, in Vankleek Hill.
